We have more than 2000 research scholars in the university involved in disciplinary and inter-disciplinary academic and sponsored research across various academic fields. We therefore look at you as an important pool of potential researchers and associates who often contribute greatly to the ongoing sponsored and academic research programs of our university.

I do believe that an enabling environment and academic freedom are important to inspire, spark
and stimulate you to new learning and experimentation that provides new directions for your research. We are a unique university in the region that does research across most of the academic domains and that makes us an important component of the society with the primary goals of promoting education, research and scholarship. In the university system, doctoral students are highly-qualified with better skills and it is therefore our intent that your experiences will be transformative and will increase your ability to contribute meaningfully to address the challenges of the society. Byfacilitating your research and investigations, we are consciously investing in development of the intellectual infrastructure of the society and fulfilling important aspects of the university vision and mission which is to pursue excellence and innovation in teaching and research to the benefit of the students and society.
Over the years, we have built a modest research infrastructure in the university that supports your research and inquiry. In a few of the disciplines, we have established well equipped laboratories and observatories which are at par with any other lab of national standard. We are aware that some scientific domains require very sophisticated and expensive equipment which requires collaboration with institutes having such facilities. In several disciplines, we are collaborating with national andinternational institutes to facilitate the accomplishment of your identified research objectives. We are strengthening the existing and looking for more collaborations the world over to support your research. However, with the recent recognition ofthe university through various evaluation instruments like NAAC, NIRF, BRICS etc., we have qualified for receiving handsome research grants for improving our research infrastructure and promoting innovations, incubations and cutting edge research in the university. The research scenario in the university is, therefore, poised for a leap advance in the near future.We are aware that a basic requirement for high quality research is the training in the science and art of doing research. Forgood research, scholars need to refine their skills from the stage of research problem to the ultimate reporting and publication of the findings. Therefore, we shall more rigorously support and fund trainings and capacity building program of our doctoral students in research methodology and instrumentation in the university and outside through various platforms. Although you spent a greater proportion of your time for the accomplishment of your research but I am aware that sometimes you probably spent a significant amount of your time on administrative formalities related to your fellowships, project management and other related issues. The vice-chancellor has recently approved a slew of measures to overcome the disruptions in your research under the COVID pandemic. We shall continue to strategize and act to reduce the extra-burden in whatever way possible by improving the research administration in the university without compromising on the basic obligations and ethics of the research scholars to research.The doors of the Dean Research office are always open to sympathetically abate, and solve the problems of Research Scholars in the university.
